The Great Escape

A few shots with a cute octopus, which inspired me to write a poem:

The Great Escape

Balance is an illusion,

fragile as a bent stem on the brink of collapse.

This world, full of invisible nets - tight enclosures

disguising themselves as silence.

The world outside is too quiet,

too orderly.

It must be broken, or at least touched,

to become real.

A loop of flesh seeks division,

drenched with longing,

tender as an old bruise.

It knows nothing of freedom,

only the shape of its cage

and how the light distorts

on the other side of the water.

It is not escape, but transformation.

It is not dry or sea, but the space between.

A new becoming,

slippery and brightened by fear.

Images were shot using a Fujifilm X-T20 camera paired with a Nikkor 50mm; f/1,8 and LRC for the final touch.I chose this time, quite unusual for me, to post two versions of each image, in colour and black and white.
